Manual install

Install without Chrome Web Store

Step 1

Download the ZIP and unzip it into a stable folder that you will not casually delete.

Step 2

Open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, and choose Load unpacked.

Step 3

Select the unzipped WillDeep-Browser folder, then keep the generated extension ID.

Step 4

Install the WillDeep native host manifest and allow that extension ID before testing the connection.

Explicit updates

Automatic detection, deliberate installation

Chrome blocks silent self-updates for unpacked extensions. WillDeep checks the some.im release plan automatically, then asks you to download and replace the folder yourself.

Options checks when opened; the service worker also checks shortly after Chrome starts and every six hours.
A newer release adds a NEW badge and, when enabled, one notification for that version.
The notification opens this page. Download, unzip over a new folder, then press Reload on chrome://extensions.
The update feed includes version, download URL, release notes, SHA-256, and file size when available.

Only grant the extension access to pages you want WillDeep to inspect or operate. Keep sensitive write actions visible and approval-gated in the Mac app.
